Key principles in 15 cash management categories that drive world-class status
The Global Cash and Banking Group (GCBG), a peer group of senior treasury practitioners from global companies across a variety of industries, has collaborated with The NeuGroup and Citi to create 15 principles that define and guide world-class cash management operations.
The GCBG is the driving force behind the year-long, survey-based research process, supported by Citi’s Treasury Diagnostics team. The objective of the project was not to prescribe specific solutions, tools or structures that may be suitable for only certain types of companies, but rather to outline core principles that characterize the cash management operations of world-class companies in general.
The final outcome is a series of corporate-developed principles for 15 treasury and cash management categories that are intended to help any company define what “world class” looks like and to determine when it has arrived.
World-Class Cash Management Principles gives a framework for:
- Validating the work of the cash management function;
- Developing a road-map for future global expansion;
- Refining organizational and “coverage” models to support the increasing global scope of business; and
- Guiding ongoing operational improvements.
