Treasury Value Drivers: Less Business Centric?

Asked to identify treasury activities adding the most value going forward, The NeuGroup’s Tech20 treasurers indicated in a recent survey that core tech treasury activities (such as efficient distribution of cash to shareholders) trumped value-added business dialogue. The discussion triggered by these responses, however, showed treasurers to be much more business-minded than suggested by the survey. So, for instance, efficient shareholder distribution of cash also means not wasting too much cash on buybacks or dividends that could be used in other ways to better support the business.
